BRC Food Safety
BRC Food is a food safety standard first developed in the United Kingdom in 1998. This food standard, approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), contains the requirements for a system of analysis of hazards HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) in accordance with the requirements of the Codex Alimentarius, a documented quality management system, and the control of requirements of the environmental conditions of the facilities, of the products, of the processes and the staff.
It represents a standard focused on ensuring the implementation of a Quality Management System in the Food Industry. This standard has been developed by the British retail distribution industry in order to guarantee a uniform system of quality and safety, as legal and consumer requirements are increasingly demanding.
BRC Food pursues the standardization of quality, safety and hygienic handling criteria for food, as well as ensuring that food manufacturers comply with their legal obligations and provide due protection to the final consumer.
